Description
This lesson is designed for skiers who already have a basic foundation in classic cross‑country skiing and are ready to explore the skating technique. Skating is a more dynamic style that offers speed, flow, and a great full‑body workout. In this stage, you will learn the essential movements that form the basis of efficient skate skiing.

During the lesson, you will work on:

  • Understanding the difference between classic and skating technique
  • Basic skating stance and balance
  • Weight transfer from ski to ski
  • How to push and glide using the correct edge of the ski
  • Introduction to the main skating techniques (e.g., V1 and V2 timing)
  • How to coordinate poles and leg movements
  • Practicing controlled skating on flat terrain and gentle slopes
  • Building confidence with rhythm, timing, and continuous movement

Goal of the Lesson
By the end of the session, you will be able to skate on flat terrain with proper balance, glide efficiently, and coordinate your movements with poles. This stage prepares you for longer skating tours and more advanced techniques on varied terrain.
